"ASEA Minor" RC-10  B0-B0 Electric built Cromar White 1974
Powered by 4 x axle mounted Sima 1.2HP compound motors E7045 was designed to pull up to 200 passengers.
The loco is over 12 feet long and probably weighs around 1 Ton.
Control is still quite primitive, with a carbon stack  reostatic speed regulator with 24 volt power from a 440 amp/hour traction battery
In its early days, it had a visit to Carshalton (circa 1975) with Roland White and his brother or Cromar White

ASEA MINOR E7045

E7045  "ASEA MINOR" having a battery change in January 2013. The old battery seen here, was 24Volt 320AH with industrial traction cells and weighing in at arrounf 500Kg or 1/2 Ton. The current (no pun intended) battery set is two sets of 4 x 6 volt golf cart type traction type giving at total capacity of 520AH x 24V. The measured starting current is about 500A, Normal running, 100 - 200A.
A Freak accident to "ASEA MINOR" happened in 2015 when a garden fork fell off a works truck. It then bounced off its handle putting the tines through the rear cab. It took a lot of work the restore the fibreglass back together again!
